However, students also need experience applying those concepts when working against a clock.

An online NAPLAN numeracy test under timed conditions can help students develop this exam-readiness skill.

Ezyxam’s practice test gives students an opportunity to work through assessment-style numeracy questions while managing limited time.

After the test, do not focus exclusively on the percentage.

Analyse:

Accuracy: Which questions were incorrect?

Timing: Which questions consumed too much time?

Concepts: Were there curriculum gaps?

Careless errors: Did the student understand the problem but make an avoidable mistake?

This analysis helps distinguish between different causes of poor performance.

A student who understands fractions but works slowly requires a different strategy from a student who does not understand the underlying concept.

Targeted practice should follow the diagnosis.

Students can then return to timed testing once the relevant skills have been strengthened.

NAPLAN preparation should remain balanced and age-appropriate. The purpose of practice is to improve familiarity and confidence, not create unnecessary pressure.
